Sony Press manager proudly announced today the consumer version of the PD170; it will be the VX2100 ! (So no VX3000 or yet? ) But it will be the end of VX2000 and PD150 upgrades are called VX2100 and PD170 (PD190 in China)

Productions stopped. Has sound problems !

 

 

The improvements are: 

1. Bigger color viewfinder (magnifier)

2. Hybride LCD screen (no turning off backlight) and switch between LCD and viewfinder. 

3. improved sound quality.

4. improved (same) CCD with 1 lux low light (in stead of 2)

5. bundeled sales with extra wide angle lens 0.7x and extra lens hood.  Standard is a lens hood with in two parts closing 'eyebrows' lens cover.  Pity. No place for any filters.  So have to buy a Century, Formatt or other matt-box. 

6. Handle/grip on top is slightly different with extra zoom in 3 speeds  

7. Playbackfunctions on top camcorder.

8. Exposure has more steps 24 (was 16)
