Is this the PD150 in pocket size or more
???
No, the PDX10 has
better resolution HAD chips, however, the PD150 has better lux. Dang it,
why can't the PDX10 have both! The 950 and the PDX10 are not exactly the
same camera. One of the biggest differences is the way the chips are
used for 16:9. The PDX10 actually does true 16:9 by using more pixels on
the sides, instead of cropping, the way most inexpensive cameras do. The
resolution of the chips in both are quite high. this goes a long way
toward reducing aliasing artifacts. This makes the PDX10 a very
interesting camera.

Comments:
For many prosumers this will be the
camcorder as alternative for the bigger VX2000 or PD150. Hopefully this
one has the same results when light inside is poor. We'll soon do some
testing. The size of the camera will actually be better for many
applications. It is less professional but ENG/ broadcastquality!
However it would be marketing madness if
Sony makes this camera more powerfull as the VX2000 so the TRV950will
have no presets that allow user configurations of sharpness, colour
balance etc. It certainly has to do without the much nicer focal lengths
of the VX, lengths that allow pretty good control over depth of field.
According to DVTRV900 user Tom: If I ever got differential focus on my
900 it was because I had stacked all the bias in my favour ~ going for
close focus, max aperture, full tele. This can become a bit limiting.!
What is better on DSR-PD150P?
The
real answer here is NOT A LOT!!:

Thanks
to its larger chassis, the DSR-PD150P features slightly better
ergonomics and has a manual zoom ring around the lens barrel.

The
DSR-PD150P looks better balanced than the DSR-PDX10P with its XLR
adaptors & microphone.
-
Because
its CCD block is less densely populated the DSR-PD150P delivers
marginally better low-light performance.

Hoi Jan,
Ik heb
uiteindelijk toch de Sony PDX10p gekocht. Ik heb hem gisteren binnen
gekregen. Een geweldig apparaaat. Erg
lichtgevoelig. Hij overtreft mijn stoutste verwachtingen. Ik kan filmen
bij kaarslicht! zonder ruis (en dat met een gain van 18 Db) De 950 haalt
geloof ik maar 12 Db. Ik hou je op de
hoogte. Het apparaat is zeker niet hetzelfde als de Sony TRV 950:
1. Meer pixels
: 576 lijnen verticaal ipv 540,
2. echte 16x9;
geen crop
3. gain 18db
4. zeer fraaie
kleuren
5. erg scherp
en gedetailleerd beeld, zichtbaar beter dan de VX2000
6. variable
zoom : dus zeer langzaam zoomen mogelijk
7. veel
handmatige instellingen mogelijk
8. alle
professionele toeters en bellen die je wilt: DVcam, audiolock, 70/100%
zebra; colorbar, XLR, timecode en nog veel meer.
Het ding is
zijn meerpijs waard!
Ik wip nog wel
eens langs met het ding.
(Ik heb
trouwens een UV filter van Heliopan gekocht dat tegelijk een infrarood
filter is en dat de detaillering ten goede komt. Het is speciaal
ontwikkeld voor digitale fotografie en video)

ben aan het rondneuzen op internet in verband met de aankoop van
een
nieuwe DV-cam. Momenteel heb ik een Sony VX 700. Ben ik heel
tevreden over.
Ligt lekker in de hand, goed beeld en betrouwbaar. Om
tijdens mijn
natuurvakanties optimale filmbeelden op te kunnen nemen
en mijn VX700 er
ooit eens mee ophoudt, ben ik op zoek naar een goede
camera. ik had gedacht
aan een 3 CCD en denk daarbij natuurlijk
gelijk aan de nieuwe Sony TRV950.
Hoewel hij pas uit is, schijnen er
al mensen te zijn die beweren dat het een
minimale up-gader van de
TRV900 zou zijn. Heb jij al informatie over de
camera? Ik heb je

deze

De Sony
TRV950 beloofd een prachtig cameraatje te worden met 3 ccd's
die
ieder maar liefst 1 miljoen pixels hebben. De eerste in zijn
soort! Dus
prachtig gedetailleerde kleuren, 12x zoom, optische super
steadyshot, zebra,
spotlight compensatie en spot focus. Ook draadloze
beeldoverdracht via
BlueTooth. Memorystick tot 1152 X 864. Met de
128MB Memory Stick kun je
ongeveer 85 minuten non-stop MPEG1 video
opnemen en via een mailtje
versturen (zal even duren). Er zit ook een
fotoflitser ingebouwd met rode
ogen reductie en de nieuwe hele
aardige hologram meting om ook in het donker
je onderwerp te kunnen
focussen en op het LCDscherm kun je zelfs surfen
op
Internet.
Zijn er ook nadelen?
Welnu velen met mij zijn
niet zo gecharmeerd van een touchscreen LCD en dat
heeft ie. Schijnt
de zon erop zie je dus bijna niet wat je doet en dat kan
wel eens erg
lastig zijn. Sony heeft namelijk weer een nieuw systeem
bedacht: de
"spot focus mode" waarbij je op dat LCD-scherm met je vinger of
een
extra soort aanwijsstokje, op dat scherm moet aanwijzen op welk punt
je
optimale scherp wilt hebben. Of dat lekker werkt? De camera nog
niet in
handen gehad, maar ik ben bang van niet! We hebben het eerder
uitgeprobeerd
op die kleine PC cameraatjes met touchscreen, maar dat
schermpje was wel
heel klein. MAAR de eerste test zullen moeten
aantonen of het vernieuwde en
verder verbeterde 3.5" Precision
SwivelScreen™ LCD Display met zijn hogere
resolutie en 246K pixel LCD
display het beeld beter zichtbaar maakt in
zonnige omstandigheden en
er makkelijker op 'getouched' kan worden. De Color
Viewfinder heeft
180K pixels en zou nog meer detail en helderheid weergeven.
Deze
2pond en 2ons zware 3CCD camcorder zal komende leverbaar zijn en
kunnen
wij als officieel Sony Dealer ook per direct bestellen! Prijs
op internet

Nog
professionelere versie; er komt ook een zwart professioneel
broertje
uit, eigenlijk de opvolger van de PD100, deze nieuwe heet de
DSR-PDX10 en
heeft als basis het DVCAM systeem. Kan waarschijnlijk
ook miniDVafspelen in
PAL en NTSC Erbovenop hetzelfde audioblok als
de PD150 met 2 XLR ingangen.

Het
beste beeld bij weinig licht.
Met de VX2000 en de PD150 hebben we met
eigen ogen al diverse malen kunnen
zien dat ze perfect ingezet kunnen
worden in zeer ongunstige lichtomstandigheden. (Gaat dus op dit moment
nog steeds onze voorkeur naar uit als beste all-round camera's). Maar er
valt, zometeen als hij uit is, ook een directe vergelijking te maken met
de nieuwe Panasonic Camera de AG-DVX100. Deze geeft aan met zijn drie
1/3" 410k pixel CCDs, bij slechts 3 lux op f11 te kunnen filmen met goed
resultaat! Maar dat lijkt ons een sprookje! Met luxwaardes wordt immer
gerommeld. Praktijktesten moeten dat altijd uitmaken.
