Filming this book has been the subject of much controversy not only in Bali !
           Villagers in India accused Julia of interrupting one of their most important religious festivals.
           They say that her huge film set in the town of Pataudi near Delhi has prevented them
from celebrating the Navratri religious festival at the Hari Mandir temple.
The "Pretty Woman" star is protected by 40 armed guards during her stay in India.

Julia has been seen as one of tHollywood's  most "Hindu-friendly" actors.
She even renamed her twins Hazel and Phinnaeus as Mahalaxmi and Ganesh & her son Henry as Krishna Balram!

“Eat, Pray, Love” is the best-selling memoir by Elizabeth Gilbert. It tells her story of overcoming a deep
depression after a painful divorce during a journey of soul-searching and self-discovery. In her search
for peace, she finds herself in Hindu spirituality and spends a year travelling in Italy, India and
Indonesia where she discovers  the real meaning of Balinese kindness.

Global-DVC videographer Jan van der Meer filmed at several BALI location
and documented Balinese culture earlier this year.
